I bought my 6 series TCL from Costco in 2019. Performs just as well except for the OS slowness which is easily offset by plugging in a fireTV.
I have the same question. I am still using my old Samsung plasma from 2009 that just refuses to deteriorate in picture quality let alone die. Just started looking at new tv's in preparation for its demise and am a bit overwhelmed.
Interesting how these 2023 models have shown up " back in stock"

This is not Mini LED by the way...they didnt start that until 2024 in this series

I know TCL is a popular and old brand, but do they last?

Great deal. Hard to beat the Q7 at this price even though it's a 23 model.

I purchased my current TCL is 2018 and am just now looking to replace it… with another TCL. 8 years is pretty good to me!

Crap quality , super light , had to go through 2 exchanges to get a decent panel from Costco...ended up going with cheap LG and it was just built better and better panel for same price

Really depends on the tier of TCL you are buying. The budget models probably are barebones and quality control isn't as good.

Their mid to high tier TVs are quite good.

The Q750G is a mid tier TV that is pretty good for it's price. It isn't mini-LED but it does have full array local dimming.

Not True, the R646 model before was Mini-LED but they skipped Mini-LED for the Q7 and now gone back to Mini-Led With the Qm7

I can't speak for mid range, but I assumed it would be better value for low TCL than low end LG , but if price same, LG won out

I was specifically referring to this TV in this thread...as in the 7 series, just in case someone was comparing this years to last years 7 series

if I were looking at this...just like the Hisense Tv's that also represent a good value

Be prepared for moments of brilliance for the price and be prepared for some lows, especially if comparing to top tier Samsung and Sony LCD's

I am also going to say that these Chinese Tv's can be buggy at times
So things like CEC control. E-arc, Wi-Fi can have intermittent issues

This is noted in the rtings.com reviews of these TVs and it mirrors my ownership experience of Chinese panels

Is it worth spending time the extra $200 for the 2024 with mini led?

How much of an experience difference is it?

I would probably buy a low-mid tier TCL TV for a bedroom or something but probably not as my primary TV.

TCL and Hisense do make stripped down models specifically for Walmart, etc. purely for sales volume. Probably not great TVs but honestly, Joe Schmoe doesn't know the difference and just wants to buy the cheapest TV possible.

I have one of those Walmart $138 50" Hisense TVs from black Friday that I use in my office. Works just fine for that. I have a TCL 98" QM7 mini LED for my basement living/theater area. It's obviously enormously better but I don't need that in my office.

I've had zero issues with any of the TCL TVs that I have. I have four in my home
