No, you're actually getting a great quality blade that is worth much more than $5. If used properly, these will out perform anx outlast most other blades. High quality and worth it.

Would be okay price if there were 3-4 carbide blades. Just paying for the brand name here.

I'd rather have a 20 pack of poor quality blades because I know I'm going to bend them before the teeth wear out.

This is best used for things that 20 pack poor quality blades probably couldn't cut well without wearing out the teeth. It isn't just longevity but performance and capability. Those cheaper blades are much more likely to get bent if they struggle and take a long time for a task. If just cutting through soft materials, then the cheaper blades could work out ok.

Are these the blades that are appropriate to cut 75 year old (mcm house) 2" steel drain pipes (they aren't cast iron)?

Will their be a lot of sparks?

Hope they're worth $10, because that's what they are. I'll give them a try.

I suspect the normal cost is an indicator of their actual effectiveness and longevity.

I needed to move studs, leave the drywall. I had general usage (metal in wood) oscillating tool blades to cut the drywall screws. They were dulling significantly after one drywall screw, I was changing blades after each 2 screws.

Purchased a specialty Milwaukee blade that said drywall screw, one blade cut all of them.

$10 / Blade for carbide is about as good as it gets.

General rule of thumb with metal is to use a slower speed. For the average homeowner, if these don't last you a long time, you were using them improperly.

What you just said is absolute BS. The only way they're worth anything more is if you're a power user who's going to be cutting through lots of nails and screws continuously on a job site. Even still, you would be fine buying some less expensive carbide blades and getting more in the pack. It's not like it takes long to pop off a blade and pop another one back on.

I used these blades to cut up a mobile home frame, no way a cheap blade would have lasted or even worked. As a matter of fact I could not believe it was cutting through like it was. The blade was done for after but it was much faster and cheaper then using a cutting torch even at $23 per blade.

You can get a 5 pack of Demolition blades at Lowe's for around $20 or less. Again, you're paying for Milwaukee branding. Would give this "deal" a score of 2 out of 10. It will work fine for those who don't know any better, but so will a lot of the other brands who sell carbide demo blades.
