Mic is ass. I bought these to use in office since I share space with others, but still wanted to hear what was going on around me and when others addressed me while I was wearing them. No one could hear me at all. When I was testing them with a buddy he asked what happened to my nice mic as these sounded like a cheap headset. So, don't get them for the mic. For sound they're pretty good for open ear.

Bose factory refurbished are like apple product refurbs, they repackage it like brand new in a sealed box. Nothing like bestbuy or others who just put returns in open boxes and its pot luck what you get. Plus since the eBay seller is Bose, returns will be a breeze. This a very niche product, and I will either love or hate them. I love the cheap Chinese knockoffs of these I already have from amazon, but if they do not blow them away in all areas, back they go! Thank you so much for this deal.

While the sound quality of these were better than my Shokz OpenRun Pro 2's, I much prefer the Shokz for comfort reasons. I found these just very barely too tight around my ear and didn't like that I had to take them off if I had a scratch on my ear.

Two year warranty is better than the one year warranty direct from Bose even though this is from Bose Smilie

Yea I won't hesitate to send them back if they're not very comfortable. Comfort has always been the issue with the in-ear buds for me.

Can you link to the Chinese knockoffs? Want to try them but not at this price.

How is the mic? All bose products I've had have bad mics compared to Apple. Watched buch of reviews all saying these are great for remote work. Guess what- remote work needs mic.

Soundpeats pearl Clip pro get pretty close to the Bose in sound quality and have a better microphone. I have both and use the Soundpeats at work and the Bose at home.

I'm the opposite. I'm a woman and the Shokz open run (in the "mini" size) are still a little wiggly when I'm running. The bone conduction irritates the side of my head after a while, the vibration almost feels itchy. I have the best luck with in- ear ear buds.

Having shokz bone conduction headphones, the sony linkbuds open, and these, I far prefer these.
Like others said, the mic is absolutely atrocious, but sound quality is miles better than the other 2. Still doesn't sound great, but at least you get tons of bass which is very challenging for any open earphone. Comfort has been solid for me but my SO doesn't like how they feel and say they pinch abit so YMMV.
For $160 I'd get these again in a hearbeat if mine die out.

I second that and I am the original poster, although I never compared them to the Bose, not yet at least. Always look for a amazon discount code on youtube or online, do not pay more than around 40 bucks for them. They are premium quality, but still cheap headphones that sound great.

The touch controls although good are not perfect and you can use an app to customize them, but if you need the precision that only a button can provide I also recommend their pop clip version which has a physical button:
https://a.co/d/5b1xGUK
Again, look for a discount code, those should be 10-20 dollars less or 25-35ish. And for podcasts and audiobooks are the same as the pearlclip pro, but music is not as good. Battery lasts longer also on these by 3-4 hours. I guess better sound quality uses more power.
If you want to try another brand that sounds slightly better and costs slightly more then the soundpeats pop clip and also has a physical button, I also own and recommend these:
https://a.co/d/gPzVcfc
if the popclips are cheaper just go with those, but these have a more premium sound, but both are comparable. the soundpeats pearl pro blows them both away for music.
at this price point these are the best. Good luck

I really want to give this a try, but the price tag is still a big high for me, even though it is half off retail. I have tried the Baseus MC1 and the Soundpeats POP clip. The Baseus seems to have better build quality and good mic as comparing to the Soundpeats. In constrast, the Soundpeats seems to have a louder sound and better sound quality and also a bit smaller. However, the Soundpeats seems to be more slippery to hold as comparing to the Baseus as the material not glossy.

try playing with the apps eq (they both have apps) or download a music player that has a preamp, and the sound will be very loud. This works much better for vocal audio like podcasts or books, music does distort sometimes with eq/preamp boosts cranked up.
I think the best bang for your buck right now is the SoundPEATS PearlClip Pro, which does not have a physical button, but relies on touch control and the battery life is not as good as the two you mentioned. Around 4-5 hours as opposed to 6-8. Look for discount codes online, should be around 40. I will soon see if its worth upgrading to the bose over those. They have to be 120 dollars better! lol
