After foolishly taking on cutting 32ft of steel roofing sheet metal with straight angle snips...I pulled the trigger just to get over the experience.

You can make Straight cuts with Left & Right cut (Red/Green) snips, I think you'd be much happier with them.
Anddddddd I'd avoid them like the plague because they're Dewalt. Stick with an experienced manufacturer like Midwest, Malco, Wiss, Bessey, Stubai, etc.

Update: was able to fairly easily make straightish cuts with them on roofing sheet metal (with and against corrugation) . Much much easier than my Wiss yellows (straight) which I realize isn't a great comparison but it's what I have to compare
