Costco has it for $1500 as well but includes a 5 year warranty.
The X93L mini led 85 inch for $1600 around Black Friday last year was slick.
I'd wait for Black Friday and maybe get the 85 inch Bravia 7 for $1600-1800 if it follows the X93L pricing.

If you need one now, there are other 85 inch mini LED TVs available for around this price point: TCL Qm7 ($1500) Hisense U8N ($1700) & Samsung QN90D ($1999). Absolutely worth spending a little extra or waiting for price cuts on Mini LED.
Highly recommend going big over small with better PQ. Having done the small/PQ route (G4 65"), I'd gladly trade for a rtings 8.0 scoring 77" or 83". Size is more impactful than a very slight PQ improvement which is only seen in extremely good source material. Material which isn't as common as you'd think.

Facts & rationality appear to indicate otherwise.
They're all better than X90L due to modern mini LED.

Indeed, thanks for the clarification. Still, the Hisense U7 85 for $200 less is the better TV.

To fix the motion of the Hisense/TCL, it is widely recommended to use an Apple TV 4k or similar device, and that makes these TVs even more competitive against Sony. I'll be doing the same with my 83" LG OLED.
Good Lord, if you're in the market for a TV, please don't listen to this post. The U7 is not a better TV than the X90L. I've seen both in person and the X90L had far better color rendering and motion handling. Not to even mention the much higher failure rates for Hisense vs Sony. This is a killer deal for the X90L, and gives you the best bang for your buck in this price range.

I meant the Hisense U7. Here it is

The U7 still holds its own against the X90L at 2/3 the price.

Dude, I've read more books in one year while working on my comprehensive exam while working on a PhD than you will read in a lifetime.

💯 this. We've gone through this debate last year many times comparing X90L vs TCL Q7 and Hisense U7. Many people initially choose the latter based on rtings scoring alone but ended up regretting. Some returned their TVs, got themselves X90Ls, and couldn't happier. While QM7 and U8N are improvements over their predecessors, those are not significant enough.

This TV simply offers superior experience out of the box. Everything works as it should. Motion processing is leaps and bounds better. If you stream a lot of 1080p, 720p videos like I do, Sony's upscaling is simply unmatched (with the exception of Panasonic, probably).

Ultimately, if you are in the market for a TV, do yourself a favor and compare them in some of the Best Buy stores.

Earlier you confused the Hisense QD7 with the U7. Forget books, you might want to start with reading the model numbers of your own links.

Only Sony can keep selling old stock for new prices
We have an XBR75 that we bought new in 2016 that is still working like new. Plenty of other TVs have since bitten the dust (Samsung, TCL etc.) but Sony keeps trucking along.

I got the 98-inch version last week. It is an incredible TV. We have it in the media room.

Mini-Led at least. It beats OLED in some aspects.

Lest you forget, he's read more model numbers on his own links while studying for some garbage degree than you will read in 10 lifetimes.

That's too much of a generalization. SOME Sony TVs are worth it. Like every company, they make some bad ones, as well as some good ones. There are TCL TVs that are better than some Sony TVs.
lol suuuure. like the XBR-65x930D? that thing has had 2 warranty repairs + when warranty ran out i had to replace an IC chip myself. All within a 3 year span

Alright, gotta admit when I'm wrong.

Happened to go to Best Buy today and saw the X90L side by side with the Bravia 7 and they're surprisingly close. Looks like the difference is bigger on paper.

There's a open box TCL QM7 98 inch for $1609 that looks spectacular as well. TV s have come a long way in the past few years.
