No offense to the OP, but FWIW...

Here's a paraphrase of my 4/16/2025, Asus Vivobook S 15 review on Best Buy:

I kept getting the Blue Screen of Death / crash about 5+ times per day.
- The Geek Squad "FIXED it" THREE times, but shortly after I got it home, same thing, BSOD!
- Sent it into the Asus service center, and when I got it back 15 days later, got BSOD twice within 4 minutes. They said the WARRANTY does NOT include any replacements or refunds.

I will never buy another Asus product. And will avoid buying from Best Buy also.

.
PS - Asus has a D- rating at the Better Business Bureau - Failure to respond to 83 complaint(s) filed against business

Blue Screen of Death maybe cause by a lot of things. It may not be the motherboard problem, tell us more about your computer, the smart people here can help you better than geek squad.

He's testifying to the reliability of ASUS as a company separate from specifically this motherboard. Their quality has dropped significantly and there are a number of very reputable people tearing down their failures as a company. They're going the way of Newegg. Chinese bean counters min maxing profits at the blatant disregard for consumer protection laws in the US due to no teeth for legal action against them.

That doesn't make sense. Did they show you where it says that in the terms? I'm assuming it was still under warranty?

I have no idea is this board is good or not but I do know one thing: anecdotes are meaningless.
There are some many possible causes of the BSOD and the fact that it was "fixed" 3 times kinda indicates it's not th emotherboard (assuming it was replaced).

If you need RAM as well in a micro ATX form, consider the Gigabyte deal instead. B850m and PCIE 5.0, Wifi 6E and slightly better, 10/2/1 VRM.

83 complaints at BBB suggests that it isn't just me.
3 times at their recommended service provider, Geek Squad, s/w & h/w scans... viruses found & removed. 3rd time there, they re-installed windows.
1 time at Asus service center in Jefferson, Indiana. More scans, re-installed windows.
AFAIK, no hardware was replaced. They had it for 7 days in the service center. Can't confirm if they actually did anything... except maybe made it worse.

I got the laptop on Feb 11, one year warranty.
Didn't show me anything, just kept repeating NO refunds/replacements, via email with their Escalations team, and on AsusHelpUS on X. They also kept saying, Ask Best Buy for a replacement.... BB said no, ask Asus. BB also kept saying I should have bought their $180 Total Membership BS, then they would have given me a replacement or store credit (within 60 days of Feb 11). Fuk BB too!

BSOD can easily be caused by Windows/software as well. I don't believe ASUS would replace hardware for a software issue.
As a counterpoint, I have an ASUS motherboard, power supply, and router that have been running since 2021 with no issues.
As for the deal, seems like a decent deal of looking to build a low budget PC.

FYI, I re-installed Windows, and the Geek Squad & Asus service center said they did too. NONE of them resolved the BSOD issue.

This board would be better if offered with something free, by itself it's not a deal at all because it's not truly an E motherboard. No PCIe 5.0 x16.
