incorrect - your grip will never match what your back+traps+delts will do, you're undertraining the larger groups if you're letting grip be the failure point. likewise, a belt will improve lifts if you know how to use one, and having something for your core muscles to brace against will protect your spine much better than air contraction
A good quality belt pays for itself. Don't skimp out on safety specially if you're lifting heavy

I had lots of trouble with these in a previous sale with multiple returns and replacements. It seemed like a mix up with their sizing between M and L and even if I got a different color, it was always a L so I gave up. Surely it wasn't just me.

Neat wisdom bro. Reality is if you can't lift it without straps, tape and belt you shouldn't be messing with it.

Just wait until you discover that exercise exists that isn't until failure.

Grabbed one of these on a similar sale about 2 weeks ago and it's been surprisingly good, very sturdy and feels good to put on (check your measurements beforehand, it isn't your pants-waist)

If I didn't already own a really good belt, I would definitely get a super cheap one like this.

This is a decent belt for travel. Takes up almost no space, unlike my leather belt.

Get something else. Lifting belts are meant to provide something solid to help you actively brace against. For everyday activities, you'd want something taller in the back (more support) and designed for more passive bracing. Search for "Back support construction belt".

Calm down there macho man

This is actually good advice. Using belts and straps is ok if your maxing out. But for everyday lifting your better off without them. Lifting without them increases your core, grip, etc strength. Lifting with them reduces it.
