This biggest difference is the Plus model has 2 solar inputs for 1000w total solar vs 500w on the D3. Pointless unless you know your hooking up a large array. Plus also has USB port to use it as a UPS, and usb charging ports max at 140w vs 100w.
Normal Delta 3 is a better value unless you know you need any of that.
The D2 versions all sound like a jet plane taking off under load but the D3 versions a whisper quiet and more efficient. If you are considering both the 3 is hands down better and has many more expandability options.

I have it mentioned that the D2Max is quieter than the regular D2, but I haven't found anything definitive.
I'll probably get the D3 Plus, but I am really tempted by the D2 Max pricing for powering the kitchen fridge during outages.
