Because this was just released a few days ago and once the current supply that is in the USA is bought up all the rest imported will be tariffed - this price isn't going to be cheaper for a long time.

That said, it's only $50 more than the X4 originally sold for at MSRP and you get it bundled here that's actually worth it like the Micro SD and 2nd Battery.

The X5 has a better microphone, better waterproofing, longer battery life and most of all user replaceable lenses that can be bought for $30.
I'm a big sniffer, I'm sold

remember when China's products were cheap and bootlegged? now they have the best stuff according to this guy

tell me why I should support inferior american products? because my data is safer being collected by the American government instead? give me a break
If purchased on the Insta360 site you would spend $106.96 more

X5 - $549.99
Extra Battery - $44.99
Selfie Stick - $24.99
Lens Cap - $6.99
Memory Card - $29.99

Total from Insta360 site - $656.95
Total from costco - $549.99

Total Savings $106.96

FYI the x4 same bundle is on sale now for $425

This video has a good veriw of the x4 vs x5.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUjqSud64IA
main improvement is
- way better night/low light video.
- improved video
- better battery.
- lens is replaceable now.

you decide if its worth the extra $125...

Actually and unfortunately he's right - I installed DJI, same thing: collects data, sends reports somewhere, I saw sth making changes to settings and apps as well and I suspect same software or worse - the app may have security vulnerability and something is already exploiting it. Interestingly, for the purpose to "setup a connection" with your camera, it should not need so many permissions and access to accounts...So, yeah, there is a serious cyber security risk with these cameras on the principle that they request way to much access, regardless who makes the software. They do work great though.

The X3 Batteries are not compatible with the X5. For that matter, neither are the X4 Batteries.

is it worth upgrading from x4? I know you can replace its lens. except that x4 users can notice a big difference? I got my x4 for $300 at costco from last deal and I still didn't open it yet...$250 difference ....hmmm

This is an perfect example, of what's wrong with many of us, nowadays. Buy, buy, and buy, and never use it or need it, just because it's $50 - $100 cheaper. It doesn't matter people, if you don't need it or use it's just rubbish. Unfortunately I'm in the same situation, and trying to change. Hoarding people!,

Would the Insta360x5 be better for a solo traveler than the DJI Osmo Pocket 3? I saw that the Pocket 3 is 800 dollars for the creator pack now...

So when you shoot video. You can go back and change the point of view?
Yes... but there are two kinds of editing. You can quickly edit the clip if you are just interested in a simple quick edit. Or much more time can be spent, editing the clips in Insta's software and then editing them again in another edited for a full video.

Pocket 3 has way better video quality, this insta360 is a 360 degree camera which means it not only captures what you are seeing, it captures YOU as well during your trip.

What's the Costco return policy for these cameras? Anytime returns, or limited?

EDIT: Looks like 90 days, for cameras.
