Sure, you can use a flash drive or something like that, but he's not entirely wrong. Having 256 GBs in the year 2025 is a bit of a stretch, don't you think? Should be a crime.

Idk, I've never needed all that much storage for a laptop I guess? I'm not saying it's not all that much, but idk if I'd say crippled though.

Apple doesn't even have an M4 with 24GB memory and 256GB storage on their website! Wondering where are MS guys getting it from! 😆

This is their normal 10% off MC has been running. If you want to add 512GB SSD, you can still get the 10%. I'm just bummed I didn't jump on the 15% off a month back for myself when I got it for a family member!

I think the biggest issue with having a small ssd is if you need that swap file space, but with 24gb of ram, you should be good. if 256gb isn't enough, 512gb probably isn't either.

Not only so, but it takes $200 just to get another 256GB!

I can understand if $200 gets you 1TB built in storage. Because let's face it 512GB can also run out pretty fast.

512 will run out pretty fast for regular users. To college students: 4 years of studying need at least 512.

Don't ever think you can use external ssd. It will be a pain in the ass. What you want from a laptop is to grab and go. If you drop your external ssd somewhere, you know the consequences.

24/256 is a very very bad choice. 2Tb icloud with this combo is a no as well. You need to have enough storage to hold something on icloud. Imagine you have 300gb zip file on 2Tb icloud, where to store it temporarily on your 256 if you download it from icloud.

"data is safe in public networks" sounds questionable.

What are the consequences, other than the cost of the SSD? Is hardware encryption that easy to break?
