This was 999.97 at Costco 3 months ago, although they sold out quickly.

I have been running on this configuration for 8 months now and love it. I had a 2020 M1 Air and it was good, but the speed on this is much nicer for large video files and anything that revs the fan.

Wow. Identical specs and not the base M3 version?

Yes, but there were very few left at that price. More people got it at the $1250 clearance price at Costco in December, I would say that's the max price one should pay for this model/config.

Thank you! I've been on the fence on pulling the trigger but I'll hold off.

Good laptop but not a slick price. Unless you need the GPU performance, you're better off buying the base M4 for $1349 at MicroCenter and save $50. The base MacBook Pro M4 is an upgrade to the M3 Pro except the raw GPU performance.
If the price was $1250, then sure, but not $1400.

It's a slick deal (not the slickest) if you have the Payboo card, unless you are in a state w/o sales tax. Say for CA residents, $1250 from Costco is only a tiny bit cheaper than $1399 from BHPhotoVideo with Payboo card. I am at the speed of one laptop a year from BHPhotoVideo. Smilie

As to which one is superior between base M4 and base M3 Pro. GPU is surely not the only point where M3 Pro is better. For one, the extra 2GB RAM matters to me. If it's not clean cut for you, just go with the cheaper one. Smilie

I price matched it at Best Buy for $1081. Ended up returning it and getting the M4 Air 15 for $100 more. Much happier with the bigger screen, lighter weight and better webcam.

Apple care is also cheaper on MacBook Air than Pro.

Are you sure it was the same processor? Found the sd post. It says m3 chip. This is a m3 prohttps://slickdeals.net/f/18008736-costco-members-ymmv-macbook-pro-laptop-14-inch-apple-m3-chip-8-core-cpu-10-core-gpu-8gb-memory-512gb-ssd-storage-999-97

Yes. I bought the m3 pro deal for $999. Best Buy price matched it after going back and forth for a month

It's not though. It's the m3 chip with 8gb memory. Not apples to apples

From what I learnt online, Costco sticker price ending at .97 is locally determined by the store manager, meaning it is a YMMV deal, not across the board. Correct me if I'm wrong.
