Some decent pockets of deals here, specifically the Knipex pliers wrench sets. Use the Woot app to get the extra 10% off the discounted price.

Wow, these are pretty expensive. I guess they're most applicable to professionals? Not us DIYers?

Exactly. I used to be a cheap ass when it came to tools and learned there's nothing worse than your harbor freight(I've not used their Icon brand but I hear it's pretty decent) tool breaking on you in the middle of a project. I've had that happen enough times that I have no problems spending this kind of money on good tools.

I'm a DIYers, and I appreciate quality tools. What would you recommend for a first Knipex tool or set?

This; https://tools.woot.com/offers/kni...nt_wp_0_15
Check pricing before you buy.

Or the very good Icon version; https://www.harborfreight.com/han...58200.html
Buy with a coupon or on sale.

Funny you mention that, I just got the icon 35 piece tool kit to fill some gaps I had with the wera tool check. The quality so far has been exceptional and it's a decent complement to the tool check since I got the metric tool check and the icon is imperial, though there is some overlap.

I'd say it's about 90% of the fit and finish of the wera

Nice! I've heard good things about Icon and the prices are up there with other quality tools

This isn't expensive by any means. Irwin vice grips brand adjustable locking pliers, and channelocks brand are around this price and I went through multiple pairs of those in my lifetime where they start slipping after a while both the jaws and the locking mechanism until I bought a pair of knipex and I still have my first pair and I probably won't need to ever buy another pair. They are better in every way and they are slimmer and not as bulky but yet still stronger. People that don't own a pair you should be adding them to your cart and purchasing right now and then you too will understand.
