These are also great for converting your kids Power Wheels over to lithium batteries. The adapters are under $10 on Amazon.
Just had my first experience with Ryobi warranty claim on a backpack sprayer, one of the worst experiences on a warranty claim ever. A year and a half and the hose is rotting away and they are saying it's a wear item. This is after sending me to a repair center that did not repair outdoor stuff.
This is part of Home depot's deal of the day. and contains three high performance batteries, two HP 4ah and one HP 2ah plus a dual charger all for $109. To give you an idea of how good a deal this is, also included in the daily deal is two HP 4ah batteries only for $119. IEven Direct Tools outlet store website has the HP 4ah battery at 40% off at $59.99 each.

Would you happen to have a sample link to the adapters on Amazon?

Is there a guide available for regular DIY dads to make the conversion? Written in crayon, perhaps?

Look for "Power Wheels Ryobi Adapter" on Amazon. They're about $12.

They have two wires and your PW battery connector has two wires. You just cut off the PW adapter, strip all wires, and connect the wires together.

If you want the easiest way to connect the wires, buy WAGO lever connectors, available on Amazon or at your local big box. Might be cheaper at your big box if you just want a small pack since you'll only need two.

I have to ask. How did you join slickdeals 18 yrs ago and have 16 comments and still stuck at 10 rep points? That's almost 2 decades lol

Anyway... Just type in amazon search for power wheels adapter and whatever Eco system battery you have.

Just cut the wires on the Power Wheels and attach the converter.
It already comes with a wire connector. The hardest part is stripping the wires.

Thank you! Did you just rig up the single battery? No speed throttler or power inverter? (Watched several videos, not confident in incorporating those things)

I did not add a step down converter, which reduces power from 18v to 12v, which is what my PW used. The car is faster now! We drive the PW to a field in our neighborhood. I have to tell the kids to keep the car in slow if I want to keep up with a fast walk. Then I let them rip once we get to the field. So, if you want to keep the speed about the same as it was with the PW battery, buy an adapter with the step down prewired, about $20, or you can get a fancier one with an adjustable voltage, around $30. If your PW battery is less than 12v, I would definitely consider something with a step down.

I always bring at least one extra, charged battery. Figure if one got us out, one will get us back.

I recycled the old PW battery at an auto parts store.

Edit: I am seeing some adapters that come with the wire lever nuts so you wouldn't have to buy them if you pick the right one.

Ive done it to two vehicles that had no batteries. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0...asin_title I got this speed controller that you screw the positive and negative battery to and the positive and negative output to the motor. It's marked so it's easy and if you hook up the battery/motor backwards the car would go backwards so you could just unscrew and switch the wires. I also got this with a fuse https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0...asin_title and decided to go with ryobi because the batteries allegedly have microprocessors in them to prevent damage to them if the cars drain the batteries too low.

Yes. You'll hardly get batteries this good with select tools. Plus this is the cheapest way to get batteries without waiting on your store to clearance them out
