I think this is a pretty good deal, can't imagine much cheaper from a retailer. 21700 cells, slim/light, wide base. I like to use this 3ah & slim 4ah on my polisher, slimmer and lighter so it's out the way & less weight for when I'm holding it for hour+.

I remember the 18V days for dewalt NiCAD. Regular battery was 1.2AH and XRP was 2.4AH. That was the largest they had.

How does this compare to the "powerstack" batteries? I know for those ones, they claim full power output even on a low percentage 2Ah battery

powerstacks are very small in physical size. Quite compact. But you only get either the 1.7ah, or the 5ah versions in powerstacks. I bought some powerstack 1.7ah just to get as small a battery as possible, so you aren't holding up a huge weight when drilling or whatever. I'll probably grab this 3ah battery just to have more runtime on items that need it (sanders, saws, etc).

Sadly Dewalt batteries do not fit Porter Cable tools. The positive and negative contacts are on opposite sides.
