Yeah, it lasts quite a while too. I've got a larger gas chainsaw (Rancher 460), but I tend to grab this Kobalt 24v more than the larger gas one (unless it's a really large tree to work on). This is a nice battery chainsaw.

A kit with the 2ah (instead of 4ah) is $149 and offers a free tool selection. Personal choice I suppose. Chainsaw + 2ah + Tool for $149 might be better for someone already in the line and has seen the batteries go on sale. Someone who just wants a chainsaw with alot more runtime might prefer Chainsaw + 4ah + 5ah for $159.

The chainsaw discussed here in this thread is a 12" and the one in the "kit" is 6" but does have a free tool.

Exactly. The 12" also has far more positive reviews. But now is $199 not $159…

I already have both 2ah and 4ah batteries and was leaning towards the free tool kit since I bought the kobalt sawzall last week but the 6 inch seems to be built with less quality and limited to smaller jobs. Now that the price is up to 199 for the 12" I'll prob pass on both. Bummer

Not going to chew much up with 12". Can get a branch saw work extension pole for less that will likely be more useful

I know but paying $50 more from when I saw it last night for $149 is annoying me. I shouldn't have debated the other comments about the free tool deal lol
