No more Download & Transfer via USB:
The option to download books to your computer and transfer them to your Kindle via USB is no longer available.
Reduced Flexibility:
This means users can no longer convert Kindle books to other formats like EPUB or PDF, or use them on non-Kindle e-readers.
Cloud-Based Access:
Kindle books will now only be available through Amazon's cloud and will sync across all compatible devices.
Impact on Backups:
Users who rely on downloading books for backups will need to find alternative methods, such as storing books in the cloud or using third-party apps.
Why the change?
Amazon has cited reasons including stricter DRM enforcement, a desire to keep users within their ecosystem, and the phasing out of older formats.
