About this Audiobook:
- Romans! Madrigals! The Dark Ages! Revolutions! Trumpets! The Oranges of The First World War! All of this (except trumpets) and more, is covered in this definitive, easy-clean history of all world history so far, written by the 21st Century's leading historian, philosopher and thinkerer Philomena Cunk.
- Focusing on the inventions, art, and brainboxes that made the modern world the unbearable place it is today, The World According to Cunk is the history book to end all history books: more unputdownable than Andrew Marr's History Of The World, less unpickupable than Yuval Noah Harari's Sapiens, and noticeably less in ancient Greek than Herodotus' Histories.
- Philomena Cunk says: "About the world, written on the world, and available at all the world's remaining bookshops, The World According to Cunk is the definitive history of the world. There will never need be another history book. Unless something major happens. Even then they'll probably just put something up on TikTok about it. A word of warning: please don't buy it if you're expecting anything about trumpets in it. You will only be disappointed."
- Narrated by: Philomena Cunk
- Length: 5 hours and 21 minutes

Android users can just download the apk for iPlayer off of apk mirror. Otherwise a browser will do and desktop mode on mobile should work too.
iPlayer also has the full run (3 seasons) of a show called Mandy starring Diane Morgan. I haven't watched it yet but heard the humor is similar, though it's an actual show and not a mockumentary.

Dry and deadpan humor isn't for everyone. I personally find her character hilarious.

If you have a VPN, BBC iPlayer is free w/ a UK ip address. There's a bunch more of these Cunk shows on there, not all of them are on Netflix. Just create a free account via VPN and search for Cunk. When it asks if you have a TV license, click yes.

I appreciate the tip. Thanks!
She has a couple funny lines here and there but most of her "jokes" don't land or are just remedial.
"...I'll be looking at the first cartographers, who really put the world on the map..."
It's just not funny enough to waste 5 hours of your life on, in my opinion.
It is two bucks, so to each their own.

Her style and delivery is perfect for a podcast then. Very soothing while also taking the piss for 5 hours. Its not grating at all like u imply. To each their own.
I used my Google rewards credits to pay, so basically free.
