Well, they are nonstick to begin with, which means they will probably only last a few years anyway, so I don't think a detachable handle durability will really be a factor.
Wow, 15 pc sounds like a lot but it's kinda lame that it's actually only 5 pans.
What's the tariff on these?

Read the 1-star reviews. These are no good.

Fake spot gives it an adjusted 4.5 still

That doesn't tell me what it's made of though. I'd like to research what they are using before I pull the trigger

Considering Teflon - PTFE - is a PFA, and they claim to have no PFA, looks like your research is over.

I bought a similar carote pan set but in stainless steel a year ago... almost for the same price. Detachable handles are good so far with moderate use. stainless steel quality is not the best, but it does not break the bank either. and is better than nonstick anyway.

how good are the removable handles for holding and in terms of longevity? Anyone with long-term experience with these?
I've been using mine VERY regularly, ie daily for eggs/steaming vegetables. No issues with the handle at all.

Counter point (and IMHO the real benefit of this style) is that without the handle, they nest/stack and take up significantly less room.

I've also nice sets of Hexclad that I hardly ever get out because I just like these so much and don't need to worry about ruining them.

I got the green color ones. The coating doesn't last long and scratches very easily. Customer service was good since they sent a replacement, but the replacement did the same thing. I probably wouldn't buy these again. The handles are very good design however.

Is the issue the color coating? Should black or white better you think

I bought a similar set of these from Walmart a little over 2 years ago in white but they did not have detachable handles. At the same time I bought a set of Circulon from Costco because both sets work on an induction range. These are the specific Carote pans, if you are curious. [walmart.com] These are the specific Circulon pans, if you are curious. [costco.com]

Honestly, the Carote pans are used by a margin of 80 to 20 over the Circulon, if it is even that close.

The Carote pans are much lighter in weight and the entire surface, other than the induction plate on the bottom, is smooth so cleaning is much easier. There are no screws or bolts on the interior (cooking side) of the pan so when making something like sauces or scarmbled eggs, the residue does not collect in and around those which can be an issue often. The pans are discolored on the interior because of cooking but it is similar to what you get in enameled cast iron. The surface also scratches but it does not seem to really affect cooking in any way. I would honestly like to get another set but after 2 years, this on is still holding up fine so I really cannot justify the purchase and using the limited space I currently have.

All that being said, I would jump on purchasing this set if I could because of my current experience with the set I purchased.

Does anyone know what non-stick technology these pans use? I can't find it on the product page. Is it Teflon?

It uses a Swiss ILAG 5 layers ILAG granite coating

They say it's safe for humans, that's all you need to know...

C'mon guys, don't buy these crap pans - it's all bad for you. Spend a few $ more and get safe pans for your family.

Check the reviews about black residue coming off the bottom of the pans. Huge deal breaker.

Literally just got refunded for the 3 pan version of this I bought at Walmart last October. Frying pan coating flaked off in the food... cooking on medium heat... with silicone spatulas. I have used other cheap ceramic pans from Amazon. They'll last a good year or two. This pan made it maybe 15 uses.

Going to buy a 12" cast iron instead.
