Thanks OP, been in the market for one of these for awhile. We have a window right behind a stove, so no vent. We use a fan, but it gets annoying when it is very cold/hot. Hopefully this works better.

I only have horizontally sliding windows, does anyone know if this could be installed vertically without any issues?

Only works in a horizontal installation. Finding vertically mountable fans and ACs for horizontalyl sliding windows is either prohibitively expensive or not an option in my experience. ☹️

Me too. I can't find a solution other than putting a tower fan on a table. It doesn't have to be flush on the window because of the Bernoulli principle. As long as you have a window screen to keep the bugs out it should be fine.

Looks like this is exactly what we need for our 1928 PA townhome. Upstairs bathroom, no vent fan after removing a hideous drop ceiling (which hid the most janky electrical wiring job I've ever seen).

I have it mounted vertically for several years. It will work, but over time something inside wears out prematurely and will start to make some noises. Like a bearing that is holding the blower (squirrel cage) or something, on the end that is now the bottom.

Check the width. Check the width. And then check the width.

tip, DO NOT GET BLACK, mold can and will grow and it would be difficult to see and clean. Actually, would need to know how easily this can be disassemble. I have something similar but its very difficult to get in to clean up.

Some windows have a sash that can be locked at various heights. If you don't have this just use a piece of wood on the inside to block the window from raising more.

Be careful if you cook with oils, this will get greasy VERY quickly. Its perfect for bathrooms with only a small window for ventilation

We've had two of these for a couple of years now, they work quite well and mostly run quietly.
One has developed a bit of a bearing rub occasionally, but a swift whack to the side (just a wee bit of percussive maintenance) fixes it right back up.
Comes with some foam blocks to close up the rest of the window, but we've lost those by now and still use these fans pretty much constantly in our bedrooms in the right weather.
A+, recommend. May grab another at this price as they're usually $75-95

I think that's the point... to move the greasy air out the kitchen. I don't think this will fit in tiny bahroom windows.
