Love Sony's picture quality. But I had my 2020 75" x90 fail on me 3 years and 10 months in it's 5 year warranty.

Sony did replace it with a 2024 version after I submitted the proper paperwork like reprinted receipt from Costco a week later.

So if you do get this TV just snap a picture of the receipt so if you do ever have to file a warranty claim you have it handy already.
Costco will price adjust, no need to take the TV back, just go to member services.

I believe citi's warranty is extended to 5 years max. This already has 5 years of warranty.
If the manufacturer warranty is 5 years, the citi double extended warranty (maximum 2 years) does not apply as well as unnecessary because 5 years warranty is long enough. However, earning 2% by citi double or costco citi earning 3% cashback is nice, isn't it?

The place where I want to fit TV is 75 inches wide and I see that this TV is 74.5 in. Will it be too close? I am not sure if it will fit properly but does anyone know?

It's a total of 7 years max, per Citi terms and conditions
Looks like you're correct, thanks for the clarification!

Citi Costco visa no longer offers an extended warranty though, so using the Citi Double Cash is probably the better choice.

This or the X93L for $200 less?
How far away from it are you? You lose some screen real-estate but the x93l is the higher end set with mini led compared to the old school FALD set. If at a normal 10 to 12 ft viewing distance I'd get the 75 as that's still a really good size at that distance. 13 or more ft away then the argument for 83-85 gets stronger. I'd try to scoot the couch closer personally and add a sofa table if needed but then again, I use an Atmos surround system and couch on the back wall is a no-no to position that properly.

If you need bigger the B4 83 deals right now are pretty compelling. That's a really nice TV. Was admiring it at Costco under the ultra bright florescent lights and it looks good there so should be plenty bright in a domestic setting. More money I know but buy once cry once.

How did it fail on you? I bought one in 2021 and hope it doesn't end up failing anytime soon.

It started with the screen just going black while watching tv but the sound and all functions remained, just no picture. You'd turn it off and back on and then it go back to normal.

It would do this 2 out 5 times of watching it. About 2-3 week after it started doing this, it just stoped showing a picture, just a black screen. You could scroll around with the remote and hear it scrolling thru stuff just no picture.

Sony never bothered to send out a tech to figure out what was the actual issue. I figured it was just a board they'd swap out or something. But nope they just swapped the whole thing out.

Kinda bummed that the new tv doesn't reset the warranty (just 90 days or your remaining warranty which ever is longer). So if the replacement ever dies you'll be on your own trying to figure it out.
