50mg is way too high a dose it will give you nausea upset stomach.

But cut it in half and the supply will last longer

I found not to take on an empty stomach helps with that. I take 50mg daily

Zinc Picolinate is better absorbed than Zinc Gluconate. It also comes in 22mg, a better dose for getting an adequate amount without much side effects that one can get with 50mg of Zinc Gluconate.

When I am sick I take mega doses (with Selenium to match) and do not have any nausea or upset stomach

Probably have been exclusively using this for the last 2 years, i even supplement a lower dose daily than the normal 50mg you find in supplements

Other poster is right, source of vitamins along with the actual chemical composition is vital in the difference between eating a placebo pill and something that actually provides tangible benefits
