Oil based means apply outside or in well ventilated room with mask, cause you gonna get dizzy from the off gassing. Unless, you like that sort of thing.

Can you apply paint on top of this? This might be a good water barrier to prevent wood rot for outdoor patios.

Oil based also means one or 2 coats will be more durable than 6-8 coats of water based.

Apply first coat wait 4 hours then sand lightly with 400-600 grit and apply second coat. Use a foam pad or clean piece of cloth to apply prevent mini bubbles. Brush will creates bubbles and this oil stuff is a pain to clean so don't waste your brush. Use dollar tree foam brush.

iIIuminati agree 100%! I always use a brush I can throw away. I wouldn't even try to clean the brush.

Oil also means no flaking and resealing like water based.

If it's outdoor, sand and pressure wash to open up fibers and oil away. 2 year down the line if it starts wearing, put more oil on.

With water based, the near application needs to be after stripping off old layer… too much work

If you have any fiberglass or fiber plastic tanks for example pressure tanks for water softeners or water softener tanks or even the cartridge pool filter tanks you can use this when they start to delaminate.
