This is a forewarning with a caveat: I've had this board for the past two years and I have a strange issue where, when streaming to friends through Discord or recording with OBS, the audio will crackle around 15-20 minutes into streaming/recording ONLY on the stream/recording. So it's not something I personally ever hear while playing a game, but anyone viewing does hear it. The crackling lasts about 15-30 seconds and then subsides and all is well, then about 15 minutes later it'll happen again. Ending the stream and re-streaming fixes it, but it's a very annoying issue if you do that type of thing a lot. The caveat is that I don't know if this issue is because of my motherboard or my CPU, but I very strongly suspect it's the CPU, a 7800X3D. I've seen others with the same CPU have the same issue, but it wasn't clear if they had the same motherboard.

But, I am pretty confident that if you use this board with a 7800X3D, you will have the same issue. Not asking for help, just sharing the experience, but if anyone has any tips, feel free to point me in the right direction. I've tried all the common things people comment in reddit threads or forums, no combination of them have worked.

It is a very high quality board though, no I/O panel space wasted on DP or HDMI, an ungodly amount of USB ports, plenty of M.2 space (with overflow in a PCIe card), the whole nine.

You should ask the motherboard maker for help if you haven't already. Spending $500 on a motherboard and having issues is not right. I used to avoid contacting the manufacturer because I assumed they wouldn't help so I would go to google for help but lately I've been going straight to the maker of product issues and have been giving free replacements or money back no questions asked. Just be honest about your issues and see what they say. If they offer you a replacement motherboard just make sure to ask if it will be a brand new board. You don't want to get a refurb board that might have other problems down the road worse than you minor audio issue you currently have.

I haven't noticed any issues, then again I don't use high sampling rates which would cause the issues you described. I suggest making sure you're not using 384Khz for audio play back except when listening to 384Khz audio.

For this price I think X870E is the better value for a cheaper price for certain models, with those the extra support of having USB4 and how certain motherboards use their lanes is better put to use imo. Like the AsRock X870E Taichi or X870E Nova for example.

I'm at 2 channel, 24 bit, 48kHz quality. I've moved that setting around a bit and nothing seems to affect this issue.

I disagree, x870e only offers USB4, this has an eCLK generator which is only available on $480+ motherboards, 60w PD charging, only available on $600+ motherboards on x870e, better audio, 10GbE and a very good VRM. I tried the Taichi lite and the RAM topology on the board is awful, I couldn't run anything higher than 7400MT/s. On the Ace it runs up to 8400MT/s. I'm running 8000MT/s cl38 without an issue.
This has the best possible PCIe layout since lanes aren't wasted on USB4.
