Lots of lg sales lately. I wonder if some evp is blowing out inventory now to hit the sales quota for his bonus. Once the tariffs resume, and maybe trump will toss it up to multiples of 100, that guy won't hit his bonus.

what a tinfoil hat shot in the dark lol. If you think $400 tv sales generate executive bonuses then you are sadly mistaken

I had this tv. Bought for 500ish during 2023. Picture quality is terrible compared to any modern led TV. Completely washed out.

What would you suggest instead?

I'm familiar with Rtings. I would like to know what type of "modern LED" compared to which this is one washed out. An OLED? Well certainly, but you're going to pay probably 5x as much as this one. I don't mind spending a little more for better quality, but improvement seems marginal at best until you switch out the underlying pixel technology.

I bought a UQ series which now I believe is basically the UT series. It was not very good. 10 days later i returned it. If you want a better than bottom of the barrel tv I would pass on this one. If you just want a 70 for the garage that you can throw beer at then scoop it.

I just got the 75 in version of this that was recently on sale for 549 and as others have stated the picture quality is a bit washed out and although you can mess with the settings to get it to look pretty good there is no way to get rid of how washed out it looks and no deep blacks. But at this price if you need an OK TV to use at a large size you can't beat the price and can make it work. Keep in mind it's also only 60hz refresh rate so if you are gaming or watching sports/action this might be a hard pass.

I also bought 2 other TV sets to compare this Series to and found that the TCL edges out both this and the Sony. I set them all up on a splitter ran some HDR tests from YouTube using a PS5 and the winner was clear. Best buy had the TCL Q7 for about 750 in 75 in and while its more money it's worth it if it's a main TV. May be worth checking for other sizes like 65 if that's your target

Alternatively walmart has the Sony x85k for 720 but with costco the warranty and return periods are better.
