Go the "Warehouse" section in the Costco mobile app (next to the "Cart" in the bottom menu) and search there. It will tell you whether its in stock in your local warehouse as well as the current price. I was able to confirm this price that way.

The real move is to call one store and get customer service to check stock in nearby stores. Never had a problem doing it this way.

But it is very unreliable, specially on clearance items

Definitely a wiser approach. Or just call the customer service number for online orders. and they can check stock, without calling any stores.
In truth, Costco is the one store where you can probably get away with calling, but when I see newbs posting "I just called x stores and none in stock" I cringe.
