Wifi 7 - supports MLO (uses 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz at the same time)
Supports TP Link's EasyMesh (for Range Extenders)
Has 2.5 GB WAN and a 2.5 GB Lan (and 3 1 GB Lan) ports.
A lot cheaper than wifi 7 routers that support 6 Ghz band to clients (about 50% cheaper).
Cons:
No wfi 6 Ghz bands.
Nice for a cheap router replacement and 6 Ghz is going to have same or less range than 5 Ghz though much wider channels and less congestion. Which might help out people in apartment complexes or houses in close proximity. Most devices do not support wifi 7 or 6 Ghz unless they are made within the last 18 months. So not future proof, but a good stepping stone until more devices support wifi 7.
I'm thinking of replacing my old WiFi 5 router:
I have the Netgear "R8000P — Nighthawk X6S AC4000 Tri Band WiFi Router - Up to 3500 Sq Ft Coverage & 55 Devices"
It's been good. It has great coverage inside and out, and rarely causes any problems.
Yet I just noticed that they haven't updated the firmware since 2022. Think I should be concerned? Is this TP-Link an improvement with regards to range (and device support)?
THANKS!

I think this router's main selling point is the two 2.5Gig ports for people who upgraded their internet connection to over 1Gig and want to ultilize the faster speed.
This post makes it seem like you get 20% off via coupon (gets you to $79) & then an additional 25% discount via Prime Visa (which would bring the total down to $59).
If the actual total discount is just the 20% coupon, plus the regular 5% cash back via Prime Visa - then the wording of the post title is probably misleading. I would buy at $59, not at $79.

It says it on the product page and when you checkout. $59 after instant coupon and credit points.

When you are not subscribed to Prime, you only get 3% off on purchases with Prime Visa. So probably a deal limited to active Prime Members only.
