With tax and everything it came out to $167.74 where I live.

I also believe there is a deal on affirm for one month of 5G data for $0.99 ends 4/30/25

https://www.boostmobile.com/shop/...02043.html

QA note: phone is $99.99 but you must purchase $60 plan, total out of pocket is $159.99 plus tax

Why is this downvoted? Can't you just pay one month, stop paying, and let it sit in a drawer for a year until it's unlocked? Am I missing something ?

Because you can get the same phone from total wireless and who wants to wait a year for a phone? That is just a small small minority that are willing to wait that long. Even before Metro had some good deals and you only had to wait 6 months which is whatever but they also changed it to one year so they kind of fell off for the average joe. But yea one year unlock is bad

Understood. But doesn't total require port in and Identity verifying to get the discount?

Oh, one year paid service! That's terrible. So basically it's a WiFi device at that rate. Any alternative deals you can recommend for same or similar flip phone ?

I used have $15 monthly boost plan, it wasn't bad actually, but now the minimum plan is $25 a month, not Worth it.

I got a razr 2024 from straight talk, $199+$25+$25

Had some reward from credit card and cashback site, not too bad

Boost will unlock one year after initial activation, provided the account is in good standing and all payment and usage requirements are met. And financing paid off

You only need the one month of service to complete their offer

The total wireless deal is your best bet at $160 for the same phone model as in this post. Like you said earlier yes you do have to do identity verify which is basically taking pictures of your id and selfie (so I guess if you are against that as some people are then total wireless deal not for you?) and also port in with Google voice number which is only $3. If you DO want to do the total wireless process I could help walk you through it because I did the same process but with an iPhone 14 plus.

Or you could get the 2023 razr plus model from Best buy for $250 but there still is a catch which is open a Verizon line where you have to do a soft credit pull by providing SSN which is same? Same? But different? To providing ID....... Anyway yea and then you basically have to cancel the line same day and it is a bigger hassle I feel because you have to call customer service and make sure they actually close down your account so you are not forced to pay activation fee etc. I also went that route too on a Motorola phone but at first the agent didn't actually close down the account and just like did a soft close or something where I would have had to pay for the plan plus activation line etc instead of only like $10 and then I had to call on the 2nd day to push harder to make them do the correct thing and they did but it's just a bigger hassle than total wireless IMO unless they have a really really good deal
