I love mine. Used it yesterday to build an A-frame. If they also made these in 18" or 30", I'd probably buy that too.

I have a metal Empire for many years. How are these plastic compare to metal one, if you use them before.

They are cheaper and lighter so I can carry a few. That way when the plumbers attack I can use them like throwing stars.

For $4.56, this is a great deal!

If a person is looking for a 12" aluminum option, I found this 2-square pack option at Home Depot for a VERY reasonable, $12.59. Looks like you get a 12" aluminum and an 8" composite (plastic) square in the bundle.Just thought I would share!

You're right, I was doing one project and needed to cut a few wood panels, so I got this material from HD, and it's OK, but metal ones are much better. These get dented easily, even witha pencil sometimes. I returned that.

this thing is huge, plastic and can live outside among the saw horses and I will not cry. I have like 3 or 4 of them in various areas and once they make it to the very bottom of the tool tote, you're in hell. work great though and won't kill saw blades as bad when you do really "smart precision" cuts.

In for one. Thanks. You can never be too rich, too thin, or have too many speed squares.
