It's crazy woot still asks a fortune for these things. They're HUGE and bulky with the keyboard attached. May as well just get a cheap m1 MacBook Air

I recently purchased a refurbished M1 MacBook Air for an employee. I would absolutely not recommend the 8GB RAM models. They tear up the drive because that's not enough memory, so it will start swapping to disk. The minimum I would get is 16GB. That should run you around $600-650 from Amazon or BackMarket

Thanks. I checked several models different years I see that M1 was there for good 5-6 years going back to 2020 or before. Does it matter which year we buy if they all have same processor? I assume battery could be the only issue. Also since yoh mentioned ram, is it not upgradeable?

The M1 should only have been for a year or two. If you get a used machine then you may have to worry about battery health. With a refurbished machine that should be less of a concern (depending on whether the refurbisher is reputable). As for RAM, that's part of the chip now. It's not SO-DIMM or even soldered on to the motherboard.
