I prefer AppleTV, but I also needed one of these to watch Blu-Ray rips with full surround sound. I use my AppleTV for everything else, but AppleTV does not support Dolby TrueHD or DTS-X. You can set up Kodi on these, and they play Blu-Ray rips great. The previous version of the Fires Stick Max did not support Dolby TrueHD or DTS-X. You need the newest version. Although it has nothing to do with supporting Dolby TrueHD or DTS-X, you can distinguish the newest version of the Fire Stick Max because it also supports Wifi-Fi 6E.

Not sure you'll need a lot of storage space if you do the one things these sticks are most best at.

The good news: I also got one for $30 and it does stream DirecTV decently! The Newest Google TV I bought before did not work with DirecTV Stream at all={.
Will figure out the other stuff for it soon, but thats $30 well spent.

Support this statement as well - I would not buy ANY Amazon device. It is not worth wasting your time let alone paying for so intrusive business model. I used the sticks for side loading, they age quickly though and got overwhelmed with software updates. Even not side loading - SO MANY ADDS, it is hard to navigate the menu.
If they give these away for free, maybeeee....although it still a waste of your time.
