Sodium is normal, both for shelf stability as well as to replace electrolytes. It's just like yelling about sugar in a Clif Bar deal -- if you're using it as the manufacturer intended, those can be benefits. This isn't everday food unless something has gone horribly wrong.

Just be aware they're high in sodium. But that's intentional because they're geared toward backcountry where people are depleting their electrolytes through activity and need that sodium replenish..
