You could say it is up to 50% better
Full price is twice as bad!
Sodium is normal, both for shelf stability as well as to replace electrolytes. It's just like yelling about sugar in a Clif Bar deal -- if you're using it as the manufacturer intended, those can be benefits. This isn't everday food unless something has gone horribly wrong.

Exactly. You buy this for when you don't have access to regular food.

For actual meals, I think so. I prefer ReadyWise for plain ingredients like ground beef.
Just be aware they're high in sodium. But that's intentional because they're geared toward backcountry where people are depleting their electrolytes through activity and need that sodium replenish..

Readywise meals are absolutely disgusting. I would not eat one unless I was literally starving. Mountain
House is at least somewhat palatable - these are fine for recreational use when backpacking or whatever.

Not really. I have high blood pressure. In order for me to get enough calories with these meals, I'd have to eat 2x the recommended daily amount of salt. I'm looking for SHTF food.
