I wonder if they replaced the battery. If not, it's not worth the headache.

If you don't care for the 256 HD and ok with the 128 then go to amazon site and save a few bucks in the referb. FYI: This is a 5yo obsolete model.

Anything running Apple Silicon is not obsolete. The newest Macbooks are just upgrades to this chip line. You're thinking of the older Intel chip models.

Didn't apple kill the M1 last year? That makes it obsolete by definition.

From ChatGPT:

While the M1 MacBook Air was officially discontinued on March 4, 2024, following the release of the M3 MacBook Air, Apple continues to provide software updates and support for M1 devices.

Software Support Timeline

Apple typically offers macOS updates for its devices for about 6–7 years after their initial release. Given that the M1 MacBook Air debuted in November 2020, it's reasonable to expect software support to continue until at least 2026 or 2027.

Furthermore, Apple often provides security updates for older macOS versions even after they stop receiving major feature updates, ensuring continued protection for users.

Garbage. You can get a brand new M4 Air for $400 double memory and same storage. New battery and longer support runway. This is 5 years old. A lifetime in laptop years. No doubt, Macbooks are robustly built, but this will be dropped from software support in a few years. The M4...has a 10 year lifespan.

It was obsolete at launch. Apple has terrible long-term support on laptops. Coupled with the puny RAM and used battery, it's a terrible deal. Apple can't bother to guarantee updates like Google and Microsoft. This is just someone's future headache.

Not only is it NOT obsolete, it is still in-fact actively sold as new; Walmart sells brand new M1's for $700 (currently $650) as their low-end model.

Weirdworks can't write or speak English properly. I think he/she meant that you can get a M4 air for $400 (more)
