I have this TV, bought it in early February when it was $1,100. I really like it. Excellent colors, smooth, natural is the way I'd describe it. The brightness is good in my moderately bright living room.

Sound is great for a tv, I stopped using my lower end Samsung 2.1 sound bar, the tv's sound is almost as good. Has a built-in subwoofer. However, sound at default config lacks bass, bass enhancement or bass levels needs to be adjusted to make it sound miles better than stock config.
Fire TV is ok, it works, it's not annoying but all my other devices are Roku and those (my newer ones at least) are better IMHO. But again, Fire tv is absolutely not a dealbreaker in my opinion, usable, and yes, the option to use something else is open.
I think it's a great deal at $1K

No longer cutting edge you say? Panasonic's image processing was reviewed higher than the LG G4 and Sony S95D (LG and Sony's flagship models).

I'm still watching mine. Contemplating if I want to get a new TV.
I owned two of the 42" models when OLED tech was in its infancy. I managed to score an amazing deal on an LG 55" OLED several years ago. I was shocked how amazing the picture was and had been rock solid performer though I had NO idea Panasonic offered OLED..this might be worth looking into

Didn't realize this is an Amazon variety that uses Fire TV as an OS. Wonder if it plays nice with a Roku Ultra?

They're not making a "comeback". This is just another one of those companies which sold their name a while backEdit: sorry, I guess they didn't sell out like a lot of other companies did but something did happen around 10-12 years back where they got out of the TV market. I could've swore that there was some other junk TVs which used their name like Pioneer or Toshiba.
They never sold out. It is just the cost of manufacturing for Japanese can't compete with Korean back then and now even cheaper Chinese brands. Panasonic never stop selling TV in Japan. Just doesn't make financial sense for them to import to the states.

I bought this same TV from Amazon in January for 769.99 before taxes after coupon. I have an older 65" LG CX to compare. The CX is in my living room so it uses a sound bar do I have no comparison there but as far as picture quality goes, this panasonic beats it by a significant margin. Probably old tech vs new but just thought I would share my experience.

Yes, technically it's a Panasonic but the Panasonic brand is not what it used to be....is no longer cutting edge
It's an LG panel.

They used to make excellent plasma TVs

Now they make excellent Oled TVs.

Nice that you no longer have to pick between DV & HDR10+ on a great display! 👍🏻

that's what the samsung neo Q90D 65 inch costs now through EPP and runs at higher refresh rate than this.

Panny pulled out of the US market for logistic and profitability reasons. Still have been selling TV's that they manufacture in Europe, Japan and elsewhere the whole time.

Nothing at all like the brand names that Chinese companies bought and use to make the products seem established and trusted:

Panasonic is dead, this is a zombie Panasonic
OLED is actually made by panasonic, with LG panels but their own processor.
but yes, their none oled TVs are just rebranded TCL, you might as well just by TCL and avoid the rebrand premium.

Just get it! My plasma still working perfectly!! I think Panny is the last major manufacturer that make things last.
