Trying to figure out what this is exactly? It says for kids but most of the reviews I see are from adults. Seems akin to the adult Stat Wars Legos meaning the assembly aspect is a big draw?

My 13yo loves this, but I'm guessing 90% of these are going 40+yo.

This set is clearly for adults.
From putting it together to it being Star Trek.
You do have to assemble parts but it's not quite like Lego.

Based off this thread they don't seem real collectible like the Legos either. The nerd in me kinda likes it but it's huge and expensive

Playmobil is usually found more in Europe than in the USA.

Example of putting it together

They discontinued the Star Trek collection. And yes it's big. But the price was $500…so it's a nice drop at the moment. Hope that helps. 🙂

This video shows the size of it

Yeah, I've had the same confusion about playmobil when I've found massive historic sets, like roman legion bases and biremes. My kid is on a history kick so it's amazing they exist, but it's got to be such a niche market (in particular because playmobil figures really seemed geared towards very young kids). But my research when looking for more for him also turned up that the playmobil market is much more Europe focused.

👍 yes. I love the history sets.

There are rumors they might be pulling out of the usa. Not a lot of items on their website. And the company it seems has had some issues the last few years. Shame.
