what hose do you use with that tank?
You can just use the refill adapter. Many make them, I bought one branded Gas One.

Watch videos on doing this and wear something like leather gardening gloves before starting. Recommend eye pro too just in case.

How do you know when it's full?
I have a small scale. Weigh a full one so that you know how much it will weight when full. You have to kind of guess when it's full. Let it go for a couple minutes. Take it off and weight it. If light put it back on for another minute and then reweigh.

Couple tips to make it work better. One put the empty tank in the freezer for a few hours before you do it. Gas seems to flow better if the tank is cold. Two turn the big tank upside down. Also seems to make the gas flow better.

Ty. What's the difference between the refillable tanks and other people just refilling the Coleman's? A better valve for repeated use or??

I use an electronic kitchen scale. I use a proper refillable tank, though, instead of these disposable ones that aren't intended to be refilled. Even though people supposedly refill disposable tanks all the time without incident, I think a refillable tank is well worth $20 for the peace of mind alone.

Refillable tank:

If you are talking about the difference in refilling one of these and the refillable tank someone listed I don't see much difference other than the price of buying the extra tank. That being said supposedly the Coleman tanks aren't supposed to be refilled, but I have been refilling the same two Coleman tanks for years.

Thanks. How many times would you say you've refilled one container? Never any issues at all?

I would say at least 5 times. I have a small table top grill that I only use in the Summer and even then not that much.

How does everyone here dispose of these?
Throw them in the trash or get a refill adapter. Most waste disposal companies recycle nowadays, and steel is easily recycled. It also decomposes into rust fairly quickly.

Yes, they are "designed" to be refilled repeatedly. The disposable ones aren't...but they can be refilled repeatedly too.

DO NOT throw in trash. Residual propane in tank can cause a fire or explosion in trash truck.

Most jurisdictions have a household hazardous waste program that accepts them for disposal.
