Tabletop really needs to be solid wood. Wood veneer wears out in no time; even plastics/formica would be better.

There's also a very similar table [ebay.com] (accent table) on sale for $102 ($89.59 w/ code). I think $40 is slick.

I agree with Jedec who commented that the tabletop must be solid wood or it will not last. MDF is good for a couple of years or until it gets wet.

Thanks for that, almost picked up two.. why would they make the tabletop MDF if the frame is wood?

The listed price ($145) doesn't seem accurate. I got one of these recently for around $50 and it looks like child's play furniture. If the dimensions seem small to you, it's because they are.

Not really a Slickdeal, but I have the IKEA equivalent of this nightstand, called the Tonstad (https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/tons...-80489322/) and at least the top panel and legs incorporate "solid oak". Really enjoy it so far, it's a huge step-up from the usual IKEA quality.

Thanks for this. I'm an IKEA fan and have the Hemnes set. That said, one thing I really like about the table I posted - in addition to the slick price - is the fluted drawer front. It's hard to see unless you magnify the picture. The IKEA version doesn't have this (and it's also 3x the price). Options are good, thank you for posting.
