These are made in US. Not sure why, but made in UK ones taste so much better. Maybe it's the leaves, maybe the teabags.

I think the Brits are just more selective in their teas than Americans. It's the same for many foreign food manufacturers in the American market. A good example is the Laughing Cow cheese, which originated in France. The original is so much more flavorful, whereas the American version is just salty with less flavor. Even the texture is a bit different.

A lot of people in England love tea bags in the morning.

Just FYI: this has been cheaper in the past. I got this box April 2024 for $4.94 after coupon+ s/s. $8 was the going rate then.

$8 is pretty rare for this tea. I've purchased it now 28x through Amazon (my wife goes through this like crazy) and of those, only 2 purchases were below $8 ($7.94). Average price was just over $10 so this is around average for the tea.

On historical prices, I've purchased Twinings tea in several variations 15 times, or so Amazon tells me. Absolutely sucks how the price of tea has gone up. Last time, in 2024 I bought a similar 100 box of Lady Grey and it was $6.65 - for Twinings I wait around until there are coupons. Twinings is good stuff and their Lady Grey and Earl Greys are worth waiting for.

But this is breakfast tea - that I drink like a fish - my mainstay is PG Tips - the last time I ordered that it was 2023 for 4x 240 boxes which came out at $26.95 (2.8 cents per bag) but it's now crazy expensive so I'm picking up Tetley and Taylors - the cheaper alternatives are not the same but am not buying into the "you have to pay more just because of inflation so rollover and take it" argument.

My guideline price for decent breakfast tea is 3c a bag - which I used to get down to by buying in bulk..This deal, 8c a bag for Twinings is too steep for me - yes it's surely good tea but there is some overhead in having every bag individually wrapped - which I don't need. Admittedly if it were a more specialised tea like their Lady Grey, it's a bit different - you can't buy 1000 of those at a time to drive down the price (but I would if I could). Again though Twinings is good tea, so maybe it's worth the extra.

Went with the 6 pack of 50 bags each. Easier to pack away in the cabinet.
