Check your local Best Buy store for open box of this TV. From fair, good to excellent condition. I got a good condition 2 months ago for $1375 and it was almost new except for the box. This is a good alternative to the Hisense U8N and the price is perfect for an 85 inch mini LED.

I've always been an OLED / QD-OLED snob, but was super impressed by these QD-Mini LED. These are better than most TVs double their price. I'd grab one if I needed a other living room TV.

I agree...BUT
Be aware if you are accustomed to say Sony flagship level picture processing/accuracy..then you will grimace occasionally with these Chinese panels

You are also going to experience some occasional bugginess ..CEC, E-ARC, Wi fi
It works, then it doesn't and then it has to be rebooted or it just starts working again on its own

Lots of bugs in my Hisense and TCL tvs. Wouldn't save settings. Some settings don't work with others. You have to constantly manually revert, some issues with my PS5 requiring a reboot, slow navigation, etc. These chinese brands also almost never fix these outstanding issues with firmware updates. That's how they roll.

LOL...so true
My Hisense U8H used to lose Wi-Fi all the time
But now it doesnt anymore.... I dont know what changed...

The Hisense U8N seems to struggle with CEC control and E-Arc
Its works most of time...but when I doesnt I have to do a disable and enable sequence to get it back working again

ive had a hisense u8k and a sony 90L for a year now. The bugs dont justify the price difference. the Sony is also dimmer in comparison, its ridiculus.

Just got a 65" version of this TV - trying to dial it in still but yes, the upscaling and motion is iffy. To be fair though I am coming from a 55" LG B9 and sit the same distance away so some of that is just having a bigger screen. This is only on YoutubeTV, not on 4k content. On the dolby vision and 4k hdr content I have tried so far, it really is a nice set - blacks are pretty much the same as my old B9 - maybe some very very small blooming but very deep blacks and brightness is definitely a lot better than the B9.
If you go on the AVS forum page for firmware, you can download the V201 and install it - they say it has definitely improved the motion and clarity aspect of the set.
