I honestly don't trust any tuber reviewing 3d printers other than aurora https://youtu.be/gkV3OiQs1sQ

Looks like she liked it other than some minor print quality issues that have likely been smoothed out by software, or can be helped by lowering print speed

Really tempted to get this over the ff ad5
You don't need a PC to run this printer. All tasks can be done local on the printer and/or from the phone/tablet app. If you're using iOS then you can try playing with the app for free even without a printer. You can upload your own prints and send prints via cloud thru the app as well.

How easy is this to use without a PC? Not looking to create models, just to print existing files from an iPad.

I own this exact model and can essentially run the entire printer from my phone. From finding to sending prints, monitoring prints (with the camera which is 20-30$), temperature monitoring, and control of hot-end and build plate temperatures. The only "bad" part is when you go to slice the print (generate the g-code the machine uses to build the print) you get sent to a queue, which can at busy times, take 15+ minutes for the cloud slicer to get to your print. From your computer is better, and allows for more control, but you absolutely CAN run the printer from a phone.

Does it have a way to slice locally? I would hate for it to stop working because the cloud service ended. EXAMPLE: Google Nest RIP. I may never buy a smart thermostat again.

I bought a refurbished K1C and K1 Max, assuming I'd probably have to mess with it a bit to get going. I've never used a 3D printer, but I'm pretty technically savvy so I wasn't intimidated about it being refurbished. Customer service has been great getting me replacement parts as I found some things wrong with the K1C right away, however it was a bit slow to get responses since the support appears to be on China time. K1 Max came pretty much new, except for a minor scuff on the screen. It may need some tuning now, but I have confidence Creality will stand behind their printers.

Between the savings of these nicer printers, and the education I've gotten working with them I am very pleased. These are also upgradable to support Creality's new multi filament system, so I'm definitely keeping my eye for that to come back in stock.

I'm always worried about Creality refurbs. My only experience was a way great deal but others have found the "refurbs" was someone's junk with no service. In my case I bought a "for parts" Ender 3 S1 Pro for $70 (at the time the S1pro was perhaps $280). It showed up in as new, never assembled condition. The blue tape was still holding the wires down. If I knew I would get that condition this would be an easy recommend.

Oh yes. That was my other option. I looked yesterday and shipping was already into June/July

I want Flashforge AD5X but it's not available for ordering since like December.
