No...I have one....ZERO padding other than on straps and back panel. Any type of photography equipment would be subject to damage.

we keep one of these in the back of the car. OK for carrying extra jacket and a water bottle. not much else. no padding and not very big

I love how this deal keeps getting posted like its a deal. This is the normal every day price for this item. I got tricked last time it was posted and bought 6 thinking I could flip for $10-15 apiece on ebay and keep a couple for free. Didn't sell a single one within the 90 day return window and the price at Walmart never once changed from $4.97 during that time period, and it still hasn't for the last 6+ months. I ended up keeping 1 or 2 and returned the rest. It's a TINY backpack, I struggle to find a use case for it to be honest. It is more or less worth the $5 they charge for it (but to be fair, pretty much any manufactured product is worth at least $5 these days), but its not a deal if you can buy it for this price every day... we don't need reminders that items can be bought for their retail price at any time.
