It's essentially a reservation and when made, they pull the item from the shelf and set it aside for you to pick up. To order, add it to cart then provide your contact info and select the store location. When the item is ready for pickup, you'll receive an e-mail. To pickup, you just go to their pickup counter and provide them with your order number and ID and then provide payment.

They did last time MC had these. My closest MCs are ~2-2.5hrs away but BB didn't give me any grief when they pricematched. If you get a stickler who won't because you're not super close to a Microcenter, maybe just try again with another agent.

Great buy though- excellent value. Very pleased with mine from last time - which serves as a very capable 'desktop replacement' - and uses only 2-4.5W of power consumption during real-world use, driving two large format displays (at/near 4K). I barely even use my desktop PC anymore because it uses ~100W to do the same thing, and it's no faster or smoother than the M4 Mini for general use.

Before the usual troll comments.

1 - It has "only" 256gb of storage. Yes, it sucks. USB4/Thunderbolt external NVMe/SSD will be a cheap addition, or get the aftermarket internal chip upgrade.

2 - It's still expensive. Ok, provide a link to machine that has comparable performance and capabilities in a similar form factor for this price.

PC people love moving the goalposts.

MacOS and Windows are different, and in real life Windows is a memory hog. Years of sales have shown that most MacOS users are fine with 8GB.

Storage? I have 48TB hooked up to an old laptop. My Mini has 16TB of external storage. Your fears about external storage are overblown. And it's a desktop.

And really, the new i7s aren't really faster than an m4. You have to go all the way to the end of Intel's range to get to m4 performance.

He means to say he has an LCD monitor right now and OS would look a lot better on an OLED monitor

Yeah, the 256GB really isn't too much of a concern. I stream all my content, so really it's just an OS/apps drive. Can add a very cheap 1TB external SSD for more.

And this thing is a beast in terms of performance. Easily outperforms PCs 2-3x the cost. It's just insanely efficient, not to mention no Windows 11 constantly bogging down the hardware or forcing Copilot and other crappy features.

Regarding the "small" ssd, nobody should be relying on local storage in 2025. I use M365 OneDrive for most storage. Not as integrated on Mac as windows, but it backs up everything just fine.
You just contradicted yourself. If the only copy you have is in cloud hosting, you do NOT HAVE a backup. There is no reason people shouldn't be able to use internal storage for a LOCAL copy of their data. You shouldn't be giving away the keys to your mini kingdom. All it took 1 guy was a pic of his kid to lose a lifetime. This is terrible advise, I'm sorry. Don't give in to corporate greed, SSD is cheap to make, they choose to do this as their business model. Great machine. An external drive works, but life isn't as seamless that way, especially on mobile.

Yes. And it shows how crap my current monitor is. Why so angry?

Who the fark would buy storage from aliexpress and willingly put their data on it??
I'm generally not one to trust cheap SSDs with important data, but I think in this case it's a lot safer. The most important parts of an SSD are the controller and the NAND chips.

The SSD controller on the Mini is built into the Apple Silicon SoC (System on Chip), so that eliminates it as a factor.

The actual module you buy in essence is just the NAND chips soldered onto a board. Since the controller on the SoC is designed for certain NAND chip specifications, they will most likely be sourced from the same manufacturer that Apple uses. This eliminates the NAND chips as a factor.

The only differentiator would then be the PC board design/manufacturing (which shouldn't be that complex) and a handful of passive component on the board (which are already cheap commodities).

This is what I did. You pay at the online pick-up counter.

It depends on what you wanna do, but from raw performance numbers only, this mini pc doesn't even come close to the M4 mac mini. That being said, if all you wanna do is web browse/content consumption, office apps and such, either are fine for you.

I had to use the BB chat twice. The first dumbdumb said that the device was OOS in Microcenter. The second one pricematched without any issues.

Very different machines. Bottom line, do you want Win11 or MacOS? I'm extremely proficient at both (and all flavors of *nix). I have to use Win for work, but prefer Mac for personal use - except gaming (although I do a lot of emulation under Mac). I own a lot of Bee/Minis minipcs for various purposes as well (HA, Prox, PFSense, NVR).

This is a great machine for $450 if you want a desktop machine for web/productivity/photo/video editing/content creation or consumption. But, if you haven't used MacOS before and aren't sure if it's for you, it's a bit of a gamble.
