It's essentially a reservation and when made, they pull the item from the shelf and set it aside for you to pick up. To order, add it to cart then provide your contact info and select the store location. When the item is ready for pickup, you'll receive an e-mail. To pickup, you just go to their pickup counter and provide them with your order number and ID and then provide payment.

Before the usual troll comments.

1 - It has "only" 256gb of storage. Yes, it sucks. USB4/Thunderbolt external NVMe/SSD will be a cheap addition, or get the aftermarket internal chip upgrade.

2 - It's still expensive. Ok, provide a link to machine that has comparable performance and capabilities in a similar form factor for this price.

reserved one at Santa Clara, any thoughts on how open box differs from new one?
The store rep told me that depending on whether it was attached to the itunes account may determine warranty eligibility. Mostly an attempt to sell their store warranty plan. Mine was not attached, so no issues. It was also in perfect condition cosmetically and functionally, zero issues. Their return policy is only 14 days, so not a lot of time for people to abuse and return.

It's been that way for quite a while. Cheaper than Amazon, but you have to get your own monitor, keyboard, and mouse which Apple charges a premium on their products. I visited Micro Center earlier, seen the Mac Mini, and grabbed it with my hands. It was no bigger than my hand and smaller than previous versions of the Mac Mini.
Agree - the last time it was shared was early May so wanted to make sure no one paid $600 for it Smilie

I'd rather get my own peripherals than Apple's TBH, especially with the PC at this price

You don't have to use apple keyboard apple mouse and Apple monitor.

yes you can. you got 2 options. buy 1 or 2TB nvme drive from Amazon (there's one specifically for the Mac mini) and then install it. or you can buy one of those docking systems where the Mac mini sits on top and there's hub below that has a separate drive and USB ports.

https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/How+...24)/180199 You can but because Apple has to be Apple, the m2 SSD isn't exactly the same. As someone mentioned, there are specific M4 ones. There's a link for a 2 TB at the bottom comments but it's $320. I think that if you want more storage, the easiest way is the docked option but at least it's not soldered this time.

Great price on a great machine. Got one in May and it's silly fast. Also like supporting local stores as opposed to Amazon and the like.Debating doing the SSD upgrade.
