These also work in an outdoor environment. I used one on my gate for like 3 years without issue because I didn't want to pay the big bucks for Rings outdoor sensor.

These are absolutely fantastic for home assistant as they are just normal Z-Wave sensors. I have like 40 of them or something

So you are saying they will work with smartthings with no problem? Looks like a homeseer sensor on the outside.

Should, never used it, but they are literally just ring branded z-wave sensors. They should work with anything that works with z-wave

I find these 2nd gen better than their 1st gen because of their smaller size and battery type. As convenient as they are for self management, I am still not happy with how soon they run out of battery vs ADT which in my previous use, lasted 10+years without issues. These sensors from Ring get glitchy, too. I often can't arm the alarm because one of the sensors get glitchy. I would say it happens to me about once per month with their glitchiness so I have to do a "bypass". I have a total of 16 of these sensors, mostly 2nd gen version. I also have 3 of those motion sensors and those seem to be working more smoothly.

Weird. I never encountered any glitchy Ring Alarm sensors, but I did have one completely fail after 3 years of use. Amazon offered me a free replacement even when I've ran out of warranty.

Didn't realize they're Z-Wave! Picked one up for a mail box automation, as the current Aqara Zigbee window/door sensor in my curbside outdoor mailbox loses connectivity too often to be reliable. Hoping this Z-Wave device is more reliable in my HA "You've Got Mail!" voice assistant automation. I have a Nortek USB combo stick (Zigbee and Z-Wave), looking forward to trying it out. Hopefully the Z-Wave connectivity is longer range and more reliable than the Zigbee range of the Aqara device.

Subscription is only for professional alarm monitoring. Not self-monitoring.
