There are whispers that T-Mobile is offering a new free line this month, possibly on select accounts. Anyone gets any notices on their account when visiting the stores or contact T-mobile these past 2 days?
During the last free line offer, I was told my account qualified by the phone agent and I added the line (via phone agent) on the evening of the last day. The line didn't register until the next day and I was told that I wasn't qualify because the line was added outside of promotional period. I'm still in 90-day probation for line removal and was told that promotions don't show up during this time so I'm not sure.

You're in for a big surprise. A free line doesn't allow for EIP or trade in deals.
Your statement is correct per TMO rep yesterday. However on the T-Life app,. the same promo ($830 off) showed up on the March free line too. In the T app, it lists all "eligible" lines including the March BYOD free line, then click on it for device upgrade, the $830 promo is also offered to this line,.
Can someone with recent upgrade experience share firsthand experience?

Yes. Free line promotion will fall off if you purchase a device on EIP. The promotion doesn't block the purchase or show it as ineligible on the app, it simply falls off and the line will become a paid line.

We do have the standard family plan with a free line already. I have called TMobile to upgrade my phone and rep mentioned about the free line offer and I grabbed it. New feee line is activated as of yesterday.Bonus: As I added new line, I did eligible for $800+ trad-in discount.
you might want to check again with T-mobile. One of the free line's stipulation is no new device, strictly BYOD

Are you sure ? I called and my rep did state it's eligible. In the past, free line with 2 paid lines is eligible for phone promotion as well.

Although, I have a business account. Now, I have 6 phone lines, 1 Business internet & 1 watch line..

Yes I'm sure. Give it a shot if you don't believe me. But make sure to update us in a month.

Just becareful when you get the so-called "Free line" from T-moble. Many people who got "Free line" in the past are now getting a 5 bucks increase treatment for their free lines. Also when you add a line to you grandfathered plan chances are they "accidently" move you away from your grandfathered cheap-o plan and nope, they will NOT move you back even tho it is 100% their fault.

Not my experience but good to know. Will be careful

I just completed getting this free line at a Costco kiosk. Also got the Motorola Edge 2024 deal after trading in a OnePlus Nord 200 5g, which I got free a few years ago with a broken phone trade-in. I'm on a One plan since 2014. It's only my second free line. Also, you can not get the RAZR 24 free by adding the free line, which I suspected but asked about anyway. The Edge deal had to be on a separate line from the new free line also, however, it worked to upgrade my free line from a few years ago. Trying to hang on to my One+ line with international add on that has unlimited high speed hotspot.

Free line is not activated on my upgraded device. It is on a paid-off device.

When this was offered to me in March (tile for free line in the T-Life app) I simply added the line myself online and sidestepped the $10 fee and $35 activation. After adding the line in a day or so the promo code appeared in the plan details so I knew I qualified for sure. Mine is ID250259.

If you are in a plan that includes sales tax and everything like magenta Max or 5G or 5G plus you lose that benefit if you take this free line.

Please see below the terms and conditions that showed in my t-life app.

Plus taxes & fees for accounts paying for a T-Mobile wireless line with additional taxes & fees; monthly Regulatory Programs (RPF) & Telco Recovery Fee (TRF) totaling $3.49 per voice line ($0.50 for RPF & $2.99 for TRF) applies; tax-es/fees approx. 4-38% of bill. Qualifying credit and qualifying regular-rate post-paid plan required. Promotional, segmented, single line plans, accounts with multiple single line plans, and Essentials Saver plans are excluded from offer. If you have cancelled lines in past 90 days, you may need to reactivate them first. Credits may take up to 2 bill cycles; credits will stop if you cancel any lines or change plans. $10 device connection charge due at sale. Limit 1/ account. Not combinable with some offers or discounts, including other service discounts, device offers, or Price Lock; choosing free line gives up access to Go5G Plus, Go5G Next, Experience More and Experience Beyond device offer features for this line only. I am in a very old plan simple choice of 9 lines (2 free lines). Total monthly charge is ~158$. I guess I am not qualified for 3rd free line?
