More just "Hue" than "Philips".

The Philips WiZ line is a lot cheaper, though the app and features are less robust and the lights and such are WiFi, not Zigbee.

That said, WiZ just released an HDMI sync box that's significantly cheaper. Not as feature rich, but I have a few WiZ items and they seem to work just fine.

Does anyone know if the new 8k box fixes the dolby vision / signal issues that's present on the 4k box? I've been using an ezcoo hdmi splitter as a workaround but it does prevent me from hooking up multiple input devices and letting the hue sync box control input switching.

Any reason to not buy the app at $130 instead?
edit: subscription is the best option imo if your tv supports it.

Only benefit is for gaming? Not 4k disks?

Had the same question. It seems to me.that the TV app is tied to the TV so not sure about transferability
