I have a 9000 or 12000 btu 110v costway one without wifi that i installed myself. I am a step or 2 above a handyman and a step or 2 below a licensed contractor.

Some negatives: I am assuming the remote is the thermostat and is around 6-7 degrees off. I live 30 minutes ne of atlanta. This thing will not keep up for heat in January. With that said, I live in a 900 sq A frame from the 70s with single pane windows. Lastly the 60 degree minimum kind of stinks. Because I think its trying to run more at 66.

Mine does not have wifi so I cant comment on that.

As far as the ac goes, its awesome. It costs almost nothing to make it feel like it should snow inside.

My guess is under $1 a day to keep it cold, more like $3 a day to keep it warm.

All of this assumes this is the same as the rebranded costway ones. Almost 2 full years and no issues.

I don't mean to steer you off this deal but check Ali**xpress for cheaper units. I just got (2) 9000btu, 110v, Rovsun for about $260 + tax/each, ship from US warehouse. I'm going to connect one with my off grid 12v solar system. At this price, buy at your own risk and DIY.

9000 BTU Mini Split AC/Heating System with Inverter, 19 SEER 115V Energy Saving Ductless Split-System Air Conditioner with Pre - AliExpress 1503

Did they scam you?

I could not paste the AliExpress URL here which shows this item for $343 but see the 1st comment in the below screenshot. The seller scammed the buyer. Can you check your listing and its reviews?

Random but real question, is it possible to DIY this for an office space? like with PVC pipes? for a temporary no hole drilling solution?

I placed the orders yesterday and still waiting for an update tracking number. Ive reached out to the seller and they responded. I do hope I don't have to go thru that experience. It's a very common scam practice with most Sellers. Thanks for catching that. Once again I don't want to promote Alix… please buy at your own risk

You can try the Midea U-shaped window unit instead. It's basically a mini split system, but portable, and cheaper.

The sensor for these type of units is typically at the indoor unit just before the coil, so if the indoor unit is hung at 7 foot that's the temperature at 7 foot at the unit not at 7 foot on the other side of the room. There is not at the remote control, at least that's the way it was when I retired. Just trying to help.

I appreciate the feedback my friend. I was wondering that because I tried to move the remote and it didnt make a difference. I have super low ceilings and I believe i am only about 6 inches maybe a little less to the ceiling. So that is definitely not ideal. Thanks again.

Rebates on these are confusing. I want to pull the trigger if my utility is going to give me $400 but im worried I'll get denied for some dumb reason.

This seems like a good deal but does anyone know of a decent deal for a unit that uses a black head unit. Thanks in advance for any info.

There's a costway on sale at Home Depot.

There may be an adjustable offset built into the remote to, to offset the temperature reading, but I know their literature is not the best. And you may have to go into a service menu.

Just noticed this:

> pre-charged with eco-friendly R32 refrigerant (also supports R410A)

Is it possible?

Never heard of that scam, but it checks out mostly that as long as you ship to the right Zip code, paypal cannot see any deeper. Google says the carrier can send a form stating a tracking number you provide was NOT delivered to the address you provide though.

Details:
Contact the Carrier: Contact the shipping carrier (USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc.) directly. While they might not tell you the exact address it was delivered to over the phone, you can ask them to confirm if the shipping address on the label matches your address. They may be able to provide documentation (sometimes called a "letter of non-delivery" to your specific address) stating that the package associated with that tracking number was addressed or delivered elsewhere.
Provide Evidence to PayPal: Upload any evidence you gather from the shipping carrier to your PayPal dispute case. Explain clearly that while tracking shows delivered to your zip code, it was not delivered to your specific address.
