I would def hop on this if I was in the market rn
Marantz AVRs are tuned to have a warmer sound. So if you want something that more neutral, then you would want the Denon.
I had a Pioneer Elite SC 87(wouldnt pass 4k), that I replaced with a Marantz SR7013. IMO, the Pioneer sounded better.
I would highly recommend looking into A1EVO script.
It basically gives you all the benefits of both Dirac room corrections!
The new iteration doesn't even need the $20 multiEQ Editor app(I would still get it though).
Quickly becoming a game changer for Denon/Marantz owners!
Having compared them I found the 50 was closer in performance to the 4800 than the 3800.
An educated guess, that 70% power may have something to do with that.
This is a very good price for Marantz performance imo.
I think I saw this unit yesterday for about $1050
Additionally, the Denon X4800 was $1020 and the Denon X3800 was $679
All open box items...they may have all the accessories and it may be just the AVR itself. It will vary by store and you get what you get. Final Price not reflected online..only the inventory level
They would all come with the warranty as a new unit would
I saw someone here that bought one of the X4800s for the $1020
I wasnt interested in those...but it may help someone else out

Where are you seeing $1499 for a new unit?
If turnne is correct $1050 for this at BB is a steal imo!

I was offered coupon code "upgrade-cinema50" for the new unit after checking out with the refurb.
Sorry - I guess that was an old code. When I checked out for the refurb I was told I can get a new one for $1499, but I declined so I didn't get the code.
No need to unless you need support for more than two subs and or more than 1 8K input.

To be fair, it's not just 8K, it's HDMI 2.1. But yeah, lot of $$ for not a lot of gain. And my 2 SVS beasts are plenty
