Yes if you're into slower paced 70s/80s shows that give you time to think about your decisions in life and what you can't control... Kinda like Shogun (the original series).
Imo, nothing to compare to - stands on its own like Wonder Woman or Gilligan's Island or KITT because it presents the path of mastering martial arts and discovering oneself in a uniquely Western + Eastern way. (One that is different enough from a more modern The Matrix that both have no good comparisons. Unique on their own right.)
Certainly a series worth watching the 1st ep to see if you're into this type of genre and era of tv shows.
