Seems like a good deal considering that just one 40V 4AH batteries with a charger normally run about a hundred and twenty five bucks by themselves.

Good point. Most tools you can swap out brushes with a butterknife, maybe even your fingernail. I've done it with drills I've owned in the past. Brush availability is the bigger problem but when you find them, they cost next to nothing & are usually just covered with plastic caps that you quarter or half turn off. Power tools have been using brushed motors since the 80's. I've had many tools last years and years and years without problem. This notion that brushed motors are complete garbage just isn't the case. Brushless are newer, are certainly better, last longer and more efficient, but dismissing brushed motors like they are outdated garbage from the stone age is kind of extreme. Especially when you can find them deeply discounted.

The "expand-it" bundle for $39 more does have the ability to add attachments, like a hedge trimmer (the hedge trimmer attchment is also on sale btw).
The standard version linked here does not.

Been using the same set for about 3 years now cutting a small yard. The blower is excellent and has a lot of power. The weed whacker works, but feels much weaker than even the cheapest of gas models. It works, but sweeping back and forth over the same spot is necessary, especially with taller grass/weeds. The auto string doesn't work very well and really even if it did the plastic end cap isn't very durable to hit on. If you bang it up too much you can't use the tool to load the string. We replaced the string feeder last year, because of this. The battery after 3 years has maybe 70% capacity left and that is alternating with another separate battery purchased.
