Do you prefer the 60v hedge trimmer over the 20v? And why?

Not gonna opine on the price here, but as a heavily invested Dewalt owner I was really unhappy with this chainsaw. Well really the saw was fine - the problem is that it draws so much current that the Dewalt batteries cannot keep up and overheat. Ambient temps weren't super high when I was working, maybe mid 70s to low 80s. A completely cool battery does okay for maybe 10-15 minutes, but once it's cooked that battery is down for hours. The more outdoor focused brands (Ego, Greenworks, etc) have their own problems to be sure but their batteries have far more cooling capacity.

Makita 40v chainsaws with their 4.0ah high output or 8ah batteries are great so far in my experience. They've done a great job not letting the battery overwork itself.

This is a good saw, unlike the 16 inch, this model has the metal teeth to grab the log. Very good for the occasional tree falling. I use my flex volt battery on it. Haven't had a issue.

I got the 60V saw when it first came out stock with a 16" bar. Have used it hard. Didn't have that issue. But I will say if I am using it on harder woods it will drain the battery in no time

As much as I really liked mine, after only using it like on 4 occasions it just died died and I'm SOL. Very disappointing, was decent while it worked. Would recommend buying it with a CC and/or getting any extended warranty you can

The 20v is notorious for burn out. I had two separate ones burnout within 18 months. 60v for 4 years and going strong. 60v tool swapping is nice too. We have an edger, string and pole saw.

The 20V I have leaks bar oil all over the place when stored. My Mikita doesn't. I basically drained the DeWalt and have it as a backup in case of an emergency like storm cleanup where my expanded battery array in the DeWalt lineup will be helpful.

Everyday jobs get the Mikita, it's more practical in that it isn't a mess to worry about when I'm done and it's hung up.

I've owned this chainsaw for quite a while. I've been able to take down some trees about 12 inches in diameter pretty easily with one battery and could keep going afterwards.

Agree with the comment above: it sure does leak oil. However if you store it on its side, it doesn't leak oil. Just be sure the side with the chain cog is facing up. That's the same side that has the port for adding the oil.

The seems like a good intermediate saw. Better than the little ones you see advertised all over these days, but if you were going to be cutting down more than one serious tree in a session, probably best to get a more serious dedicated saw. However those are considerably more expensive.

You can buy the makita ones on clearance (paid 20 for the Home Depot 200+ one) and a battery adapter off Amazon for less than 20 bucks
